How I actually work.

Two shapes, one outcome.

APPROACH.01 SHAPE.A

Building a project

If it's building a project, I start with understanding the scope, the requirements, and the problems you're solving. Strategise first, build second. In practice that means a week or two where I'm asking awkward questions, mapping the system around what you're shipping, and pressure-testing the architecture before a line of production code lands. The build itself is the easy part once that work's done. The thinking is what stops you shipping the wrong thing well.

APPROACH.02 SHAPE.B

Internal AI workflows & upskilling

If it's internal AI workflows or AI upskilling, I first work to understand the problems without giving any advice. That restraint matters: most engagements go sideways because someone turned up with a solution before they'd earned the right to have one. Once I've got a deep enough read on how the team actually works, I'll identify the top opportunities I think we should optimise for results, then work down that list in priority order, shipping as we go.

In both cases, I'm trying to land somewhere specific and shipped — not somewhere abstract and "advisory only".
