PROJECT.01 · Project LIVE AI Mobile Consumer 2025 → ongoing

AI-guided meditation that adapts to the practitioner.

Personalised guided sessions, a flexible timer, and an encrypted reflection journal. You describe how you feel; the app picks the technique. Freemium, live on iOS, Android and web, and a profitable product I designed, built and grew on my own.

What it is

In one paragraph.

StillMind personalises every session to the person and the moment: your goal, the time you have, and how you feel that day. Most meditation apps hand you a fixed library and assume you already know what you need. StillMind works the other way round. Tell it you have ten minutes and a meeting on your mind, and it guides ten minutes built for that.

It serves two kinds of practitioner. For experienced meditators there's a clean timer and a journal to track a practice they already own. For everyone else there's guided audio that meets them wherever they are. My wife, a yoga teacher, leans on the first. I lean on the second. The app does both well, with the same depth of analytics and journaling behind each.

The two ideas

What makes it different.

USP.01
Rooted in meditation theory

Personalised AI sessions

You describe how you feel or what you want to feel, and the app chooses the technique. The guidance draws on established meditation practice, then shapes itself to the person and the problem at hand. You never have to know which type of meditation you need.

USP.02
Centuries of practice

A reflection journal

Reflecting after a sit is one of the oldest parts of the practice: it anchors what you learned, helps the benefits last, and often surfaces more than the session itself. The journal is end-to-end encrypted, with optional AI reflection on the sessions you opt in.

FIG.A · THE PERSONALISATION ENGINE describe the feeling → a session built for it
01 · Your profile

A few honest answers when you start out.

  • Goal: sleep
  • Major life change
  • Young children
02 · A library built for you

Not a generic catalogue. Sessions for your situation.

  • Night wakings, back to sleep
  • Wind down after a hard day with the kids
  • Post-bedtime reset
03 · One micro-question

"What's the overwhelm right now?"

  • touched out
  • overstimulated
  • exhausted
  • + add your own

One tap is enough. The free-text is optional.

04 · Your session
10-min wind-down for feeling touched out

Built for that state, not a generic track.

Or start from a moment
  • Black Friday financial stress
  • Valentine's, for two or for one
  • New Year reset

Time-specific presets, another way past the blank box.

The features that matter.

Feature.01

Flexible timer

A clean timer for self-guided sits, with optional interval bells and ambient soundscapes.

Feature.02

The compass

Orient your practice to a direction, for those who meditate facing east or any bearing they choose.

Feature.03

Voice notes

Capture a post-session insight without opening your eyes. Speak it and it's saved, calm intact.

Feature.04

Real analytics

Not 'you meditated five times'. Patterns: when you're consistent, how length tracks mood, what recurs in your journal.

Feature.05

Cross-platform sync

Native iOS and Android with a web companion. Your practice follows you across devices.

Feature.06

Private by default

Local-first where it can be. The journal is end-to-end encrypted. No ads, no data sales.

Under the hood

How it's built, and the system around it.

Every session is generated, not pre-recorded. Custom Claude prompts and skills write the script, ElevenLabs renders the audio, and a quality harness checks each script against a set of standards before it reaches a user. It's the part I'm most pleased with: it lets one person ship guided audio that holds a consistent bar.

The project is more than the app. It carries its own content website, which has become a genuinely fun SEO project: a few hundred organic clicks a month now, compounding by 25% month on month. Two agents I built for StillMind keep the growth side moving, one for App Store optimisation and one for Apple Search Ads.

  • Flutter iOS · Android · web
  • Firebase Auth · Firestore · Functions
  • RevenueCat Subscriptions
  • ElevenLabs Audio generation
  • Claude Script generation
  • Sentry Error monitoring
  • Amplitude Product analytics
  • Tenjin Attribution (MMP)
Why I built it

The motivation.

My wife teaches yoga and wanted a beautiful, personalised meditation timer. I wanted the guided, personalised side for myself. And in early 2025 I mostly wanted to find out how far AI could take a solo build, and to play with tools like ElevenLabs. StillMind is what came out of all three.

Lessons

What I learned

The hard part is no longer building. With the right foundations in place (skills, docs, agents that understand the codebase), iterating is fast and, frankly, addictive. The discipline is to stop polishing the product and spend that energy on getting users instead. The SEO website has been the standout channel so far, still growing 25% a month, and I'm hoping that signal holds.

It's shifted from 'can I build it?' to 'should I build it?'. When building is cheap, validation and discovery are where the real work is.
